Fancy yourself a good striker?
Sydney FC star Adam Le Fondre has lit up the Hyundai A-League, becoming the first player to score 10 goals in his first 11 games.
He’s no stranger to goals, and he’s got one eye on beating Bobô’s record of 27 goals in 27 games. Hear from Adam Le Fondre on his top tips to improve your striking game.
“Firstly, for me the most important one is working hard. Working hard beats anything. As long as you keep practicing, work hard and stay dedicated you’ll do well in everything you do.
“Secondly, something my dad always preached to me when I was a young boy, was you can’t just be a one footed player.
Firstly, for me the most important one is working hard. Working hard beats anything. As long as you keep practicing, work hard and stay dedicated you’ll do well in everything you do.
“You have to able to hit the ball well with both feet, and obviously heading as well. With me being a short player, I’ve learned how to finish with my head and finish good enough with either foot. These are great things to learn as a youngster to work on.
“Also, always be available. As a striker you have to be a good outlet whether that’s running in behind the defence or coming short to feet.
“Having that availability and versatility in your game is something you can work on. Work on getting in front of the defender and getting the ball. If you can force yourself to do that then you’ll be fine.”
