Get to Know: Amy Sayer

Amy Sayer celebrating her first goal for Sydney FC

It’s her first season with the Sky Blues, and while she’s out injured currently, we’re all looking forward to seeing her return to the field soon.

What’s her favourite subject in school? What’s her worst habit? Find out more about Sky Blue Westfield W-League youngster Amy Sayer.

Nickname: I don’t actually have one because me name is short enough already.

Worst habit: I’m a serial spreader, I take all my belongings and put them everywhere! I’ve gained territory around the whole house and in my room, there’s no floor space anymore.

Coffee order: I’m not a big coffee drinker, but when I go out with the team I’ll usually get a mocha or chai latte.

Favourite colour: Red.

Favourite celebrity: I love Scarlett Johansson as an actress.

Favourite subject in school: Probably legal studies, I love reading about crime and we’ve learned about a lot of interesting content around the legal system and human rights.

My favourite player would be Andreas Iniesta. I model my game similar to his, he’s also a midfielder and we play a similar position and similar sort of game.

Can you cook – what’s your specialty: I don’t really cook that much, but I’m good baker I can make a great brownie. My go to breakfast after training would be an omelette.

Ideal holiday: My favourite holiday place is Hawaii, I’d love to go back there but with football there’s never really any time.

Most used emoji: Probably the laugh crying emoji or the love heart.

Biggest inspiration and why: My favourite player would be Andreas Iniesta. I model my game similar to his, he’s also a midfielder and we play a similar position and similar sort of game.

Describe your game day routine: Usually wake up late, have a brunch and head to the field. From there I have a few superstitions, go out to the field walk around a bit, go into the changeroom and do foam rolling before putting on shinpads and heading out.
